Appreciations

Hello

I dined at Sakura with several business associates on the night of October 8th, 2013, and had the pleasure of being waited on by Danny. As a vegan business traveler, I’ve found that many people do not understand what is within my diet (no animal products including all meats/poultry/fish as well as honey and gelatin, to name a few) and will accidentally provide food that goes against my beliefs. Not only was Danny attentive, polite, and well spoken, but he was very familiar with a vegan diet and made sure that my meal was prepared properly and to my needs without inconveniencing my group or calling attention to my diet. He was a perfect waiter and was appreciated by my entire group, and because of him I will be recommending Sakura to my work as a good dining option for other business travelers.

As a side note, the hibachi grill was absolutely delicious and a delight at the end of a long day filled with meetings. I look forward to returning many times over the upcoming months that I will be in New Jersey.

Thank you from a happy customer!

Surf meets turf at this Parsippany Japanese adjacent to the Ramada Limited where “excellent”, “fresh fish” and “creative rolls” satisfy sushi lovers and hibachi chefs put on a “great show” for those who prefer their proteins cooked; groups, families and couples laud the “friendly” staff and “pleasant” atmosphere – and for those who say it’s “too pricey to eat at regularly”, the option to “BYO is appreciated.”
Despite my worries beforehand, you CAN eat gluten free and be safe here! Just talk to the hostess when you’re being seated and let them know of your allergies. They’ll prepare you food in the back so there’s no risk of cross-contamination on the flattop. Remind your waiter/waitress of your allergies and your’e all good! If you like, bring your own GF soy sauce (tamari or coconut aminos) and they’ll cook with it for you in the back! No, you don’t get to eat the miso soup or salad with the delicious ginger dressing. But you can still enjoy the cooking show with your dining companions and not feel left out of the experience at these kinds of restaurants!

I got the salmon and shrimp combo, which came with sauteed zucchini, mushrooms, onions, and broccoli. Brought my own sauce (coconut aminos) and it was all delicious.
